Robin Russell - Filmmaker & Editor
I'm Robin Russell, a 21-year-old filmmaker, videographer and editor based in Belgium. My passion for visual storytelling started in 2021, when I picked up a camera and never looked back. Since then, I've been capturing weddings, creating aftermovies and atmospheric impression films — often in collaboration with PIXEL Creative Studio. Alongside my work behind the camera, I host Script to Screen, a podcast where I sit down with Hollywood professionals like VFX artist Brad Tobler (Stranger Things), LA-based cinematographer Zach Anaya (BeastGames) and DOP Richard Beck (DJI, Canon USA) — diving deep into the world of film and media.
Studying at a filmschool
Currently pursuing my degree in Audiovisual Creations at RITCS — the Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema and Sound in Brussels, one of Belgium's most prestigious film schools. It's a place where technique meets artistry, and where every project is an opportunity to grow as a visual storyteller.
My academic journey began somewhere unexpected: Mathematics and Sciences. That background might seem far removed from filmmaking, but it shaped the way I think — analytically, deliberately and with a clear sense of purpose. Every shot is a decision. Every edit has a reason. That mindset follows me into every project I take on.
At RITCS, I push my craft forward every day alongside some of the most promising emerging filmmakers in the country — learning, experimenting and constantly challenging myself to tell stories that truly resonate.
